Boiler Operator $2000 SIGN ON BONUS
Memphis, TN Job Description The Boiler Operator position's primary responsibility is to operate and maintain all manufacturing facility utility systems including steam, condensate, compressed air, and water. The Primary Duties listed below are routine functions of the Boiler Operator in ensuring continuous, reliable operation of the mills utility systems. This list of Primary Duties is not all inclusive but should be used as a general overview of job requirements where routine procedures and expectations have been defined. This is an hourly paid position that works a 12hr. rotating shift schedule. The facility operates on a 24 hour, 7 day per week, 365 day per year basis. Successful candidates must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug test, and physical. Must have a current 1 st Class Steam Engineer License from Shelby County Code Enforcement department. Primary Duties: Operate facility steam boilers and perform routine testing and inspections including but not limited to water sampling, boiler blow downs, etc. Operate facility air compressors and associated equipment to supply dry, oil free air to facility. Perform breakdown and routine maintenance on utility system equipment such as boilers, air compressors, air dryers, condensate pumps, feedwater pumps, etc. Continuously monitor and obtain utility meter readings daily Monitor water treatment plant operation daily Monitor and operate condensate return system to ensure efficient operation Check turbine in boiler house penthouse on a daily basis when operating Lubricate feed water and cooling water recirculation pumps (2 feed water pumps in boiler house and 1 recirculation pump in courtyard west of compressor room) Maintain a clean work environment At all times address yourself in a professional manner Report any findings out the ordinary to Boilerhouse Supervisor Perform miscellaneous facility support activities as defined by the Boilerhouse Supervisor QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED Must be minimum of 18 years of age Must have a current 1 st Class Steam Engineer License from Shelby County Code Enforcement department Mechanical Aptitude – Mechanic Level (STM Assessment) Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience and 2 years boiler operations experience to include general utility maintenance experience Ability to work in a Team environment Committed to safety & organizational goals A record of stable & continuous employment Must be computer literate Professional communication skills Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision Ability to lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders and stairs, work from heights, and stand for continuous periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to work rotating 12hr. shifts, overtime & weekends/holidays Ability to work in a hot, humid, noisy and high volume machine production area Ability and willingness to work safely and wear PPE as required Must be able to meet attendance expectation Must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug test, and physical K.T.G.(USA) Inc . is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from all qualified individuals.
