Financial and Statutory Accountant, UK Finance - Belfast/London
ROLE: FINANCIAL & STATUTORY ACCOUNTANT - AIB UK PRIMARY LOCATION: Home working and office based in London or Belfast This role is being offered on a permanent / full time basis. ARE YOU A QUALIFIED ACCOUNTANT WITH A COMPREHENSIVE UNDERSTANDING OF UK FINANCIAL AND STATUTORY REQUIREMENTS? DO YOU WANT TO BE PART OF A DYNAMIC TEAM WITH SIGNIFICANT REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES? WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO WILL: *Review the monthly financial accounts of AIB Group (UK) plc and UK Subsidiaries in a timely and accurate manner, to ensure they meet UK financial and statutory requirements. Ensure adherence to the agreed controls, processes and procedures; *Assist in the preparation and review of the AIB Group (UK) plc and UK Subsidiaries statutory accounts, including liaison with the external auditors; *Prepare and review relevant board papers for the AIB UK entities as required, providing meaningful and insightful financial information to key stakeholders; *Build and maintain strong working relationships, in particular with the centralised finance functions to whom we have outsourced the production of our Financial and Statutory reporting; *Proactively look at emerging trends / changes in financial reporting and assess the impact of these on reporting requirements; *Provide expert advice and support on ad hoc projects as required; *Actively seek out opportunities to deliver efficiencies in the production and review of our reporting requirements. YOU WILL NEED TO SHOW US THAT YOU HAVE: *A fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with 2/3 years post qualification experience, preferably in a Financial Services firm; *Experience in the preparation or audit of statutory financial accounts; *A good knowledge of financial and statutory requirements required whilst working in an ever changing environment; *Strong organisational skills and an ability to manage own time effectively; *Excellent communication and IT skills, strong business acumen, and analysis and negotiation skills.
