### Private Real Estate (Landed Estates, Rural and Agriculture)

The Firm’s Private Real Estate Group provides advice and service of the highest quality to owners and purchasers of high value property in London and across England and Wales. With six partners, the firm is well recognised in the standard legal directories. The Landed Estates and Agriculture team within the Private Real Estate Group is led by partners Tristan Ward and Paddy Lynam and includes three solicitors and a trainee solicitor, with support from the wider Firm as appropriate.

### Opportunity

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced solicitor to join the Private Real Estate team in Cambridge or Southampton, with a particular focus on supporting partners and fee earners dealing with rural and agricultural property. The successful candidate will work with partners Tristan Ward and Paddy Lynam together with fee earners and staff across the Firm to deliver seamless service of the highest quality to clients. We expect the successful candidate will take the lead in managing his or her workload.

Day to day tasks will include advising high and ultra-high net worth international and British private clients and also commercial and charity clients, in all aspects of rural property, including:

- Sale and purchase of farms and landed estates;
- Sale and purchase of rural residential property;
- Sale of land for residential and commercial development;
- The grant of leases for renewable energy projects;
- Advising or occupancy arrangements for agricultural land, including the Agricultural Holdings Act 1986, the Agricultural Tenancies Act 1995 and contract farming and share farming agreements; and
- Management of rural property assets, including commercial leases, grant of easements, release of restrictive covenants, rural residential landlord and tenant and first registration of unregistered land.

The successful applicant will also take part in business development both alone and in concert with the wider group commensurate with their own seniority.

### Who we are looking for

BDB Pitmans is looking for someone with:

- Admissions to the Solicitor Roll
- 2:1 Degree or higher preferred
- 6 years PQE and higher will be considered.
- Excellent legal knowledge and commercial awareness appropriate to experience

### Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is £70,000 (DOE) and the working hours are full-time (5 days / 35 hours per week). BDB Pitmans offers flexible working and target hours and a healthy work/life balance.
