Data & Systems Analyst (Staff Analyst Series) Communications
New York City, NY # Data & Systems Analyst Data & Systems Analysts are responsible for conducting research and analysis of operational datasets and customer feedback to help improve the customer experience. This role works to improve the consistency of information across the system, increase the ability to deliver relevant, targeted information at each touch point of the customer journey, and modernize customer-facing datasets, applications, and standard operating procedures. ## Responsibilities Data & Systems Analysts are responsible for the following tasks: - Research and analyze operational datasets, customer feedback, and other inputs - Develop practical policy and procedural recommendations for operational adjustments across all agencies to improve the customer experience - Represent the customer on cross-functional teams charged with developing and implementing plans to improve the customer experience - Design and advance strategies for modernizing data pipelines and automating manual and resource intensive processes - Contribute to creation of the unified MTA customer experience vision, channel, and contextual content strategy - Assist the Chief Customer Officer with other tasks and assignments as necessary to drive forward the MTA customer experience ## Education and Experience Data & Systems Analysts must meet the following minimum requirements: - Staff Analyst I-II: A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies, or a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school; or a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience - Associate Staff Analyst: A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies, or a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, and one year of satisfactory full-time professional experience; or a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and three years of satisfactory full-time professional experience ## Desired Skills Data & Systems Analysts should possess the following skills: - Prior experience with transportation service or systems planning and/or analysis - Prior experience in planning, implementation, and measurement of technically driven projects - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Experience using cloud computing, research and analysis, and project/task management software - Strong communication skills - Good decision-making skills with a high degree of professional integrity and ethics - Superior ability to pay attention to details and be thorough in completing work tasks - Experience writing scripts, using data analysis tools, and/or business intelligence tools to parse, process, and analyze data - Knowledge of MTA operations and technical systems ## Compensation Data & Systems Analysts are rewarded with the following salary information: - Staff Analyst I (OA): $65,003 (Min) - $76,955 (Max) - Staff Analyst II (OA): $75,475 (Min) - $84,060 (Max) - Associate Staff Analyst (OA): $85,316 (Min) - $110,468 (Max) - OA represented by TWU L 100 - Staff Analyst I (TA): $58,934 (Min) - $69,771 (Max) (New Hire Rate: $51,245) - Staff Analyst II (TA): $68,430 (Min) - $76,213 (Max) (New Hire Rate: $59,505) - Associate Staff Analyst (TA): $77,356 (Min) - $100,155 (Max) (New Hire Rate: $67,264) - TA represented by OSA ## Selection Method Data & Systems Analysts are selected based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview. ## How To Apply MTA employees must apply via My MTA Portal.
