We are currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced Staff Attorney to join our legal team at our headquarters. Job Description: As a Staff Attorney, you will play a crucial role in providing legal advice to our staff at all levels. This includes identifying and analyzing legal issues, drafting documents, and presenting recommendations to ensure our credit union remains compliant with all applicable laws. You will also work closely with the General Counsel to address legal issues, negotiate agreements, and provide sound legal advice to the executive office, the Board, Senior Management, and other departments. Job Responsibilities: - Negotiate transactions, agreements, and contracts on behalf of the credit union and its subsidiaries. - Draft, review, and revise various legal instruments related to the interests of the credit union and its members. - Stay updated on legislation, regulations, and other legal developments affecting federal credit unions and related matters. - Collaborate with management staff to develop goals and strategies to achieve objectives set by Senior Management. - Provide expert legal advice to various departments and project teams, ensuring compliance with legal requirements. - Represent the credit union in legal matters such as small claims actions, civil suits, foreclosures, bankruptcies, and personnel issues. - Assist Senior Management in developing policies and procedures for compliance issues. - Conduct title searches for real estate transactions. Qualifications: - Juris Doctor (JD) degree - Admission to the Ohio Bar is required - Previous experience in a related field is preferred - In-depth knowledge of state and federal laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to credit union operations - Strong analytical skills and ability to provide sound legal advice - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - Proven negotiation and problem-solving abilities - Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team - Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Salary Information: The salary range for this position is $60,000.00 per year.
