Salary Information: Salary Admin Plan: B Grade: 22 24 26 28 Salary (Pay Basis): 6,781.25 - 8,319.29 (Monthly) Job Title: Assistant Attorney General I-IV Experience: Minimum 1 year for AAG II, 2 years for AAG III, 3 years for AAG IV Description: The Office of the Attorney General is seeking qualified individuals to join their Child Support Division as Assistant Attorneys General (AAGs). This is a full-time position with a regular schedule of 40 hours per week and occasional travel required. Responsibilities: - Represent the State of Texas in legal proceedings to establish, enforce, and modify child support and medical support orders - Provide legal advice and consultation to the Child Support Program - Develop and deliver training to staff - Maintain knowledge of Family Law and the Texas Family Code - Attend work regularly and comply with agency policies and procedures - Ensure security and confidentiality of sensitive information Qualifications: - Graduation from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree - Licensed as an attorney by the State of Texas and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas - Knowledge of Family Law and the Texas Family Code - Strong legal writing, mediation, and negotiation skills - Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Ability to work cooperatively with others in a professional office environment - Excellent customer service skills - Ability to work in person at assigned OAG work location and travel up to 25% of the time Minimum Experience: - Assistant Attorney General I: No experience required - Assistant Attorney General II: Minimum 1 year of full-time legal experience as a licensed attorney - Assistant Attorney General III: Minimum 2 years of full-time legal experience as a licensed attorney - Assistant Attorney General IV: Minimum 3 years of full-time legal experience as a licensed attorney Preferred Experience: - 2 years of experience handling Family Law cases - Jury trial experience - Experience in a high-volume legal practice Other Qualifications: - Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak Spanish - Must be able to lift and relocate 30 lbs. - Must have personal transportation for business-related travel To apply for this position, please submit an electronic application through either CAPPS Recruit or Work in Texas.
