Role and Responsibilities

- Serve as a Staff Attorney for the Crime Victims Legal Assistance Project (CVLAP) in Saginaw, Michigan
- Focus on providing legal assistance to victims of domestic violence under the federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA)
- Collaborate with other legal aid organizations in Michigan to provide outreach and representation to underserved populations
- Work within the Michigan Advocacy Program (MAP) to advance justice and systemic solutions for those affected by poverty and oppression
- Provide legal aid services in the areas of homelessness prevention, domestic violence and elder abuse prevention, and assistance with accessing healthcare, food, and income programs
- Adhere to the mission and values of MAP to serve low-income individuals and underserved communities

Qualifications and Experience

- Must be licensed to practice law in Michigan or qualified to be admitted by waiver
- Demonstrated commitment to serving low-income individuals and underserved populations, through lived or learned experience
- Experience with issues impacting domestic violence or elder abuse survivors is a plus

- Salary starting at $60,000 depending on experience
