Judicial Specialist 2 in Carlsbad, NM - $39,154 - $78,308 annually The Fifth Judicial District Court in Carlsbad, New Mexico is seeking a full-time Judicial Specialist 2 to join their team. This is a classified position with a pay range of $18.824 - $37.648 per hour, or $39,154 - $78,308 annually. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing clerical and technical duties in case processing, file maintenance, and jury management. This position also involves providing customer service to a high volume of pro se litigants and using the court case management system to open, docket, and close cases. The hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Key Responsibilities: - Use the case management system to open, docket, and close cases, including assessing and receipting filing fees. - Provide general procedural information to pro se litigants without giving legal advice. - Process, maintain, and distribute court documents, files, and case materials. - Accurately handle and record monies, prepare bank deposits, and follow cash handling procedures. - Assist with jury management, including organizing jury summons and preparing jury trial calendars. - Act as a liaison between court personnel, litigants, and attorneys to advance court proceedings. - Troubleshoot and maintain recording equipment, and ensure accurate record keeping procedures. - Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: - High school diploma or GED required. - 2 years of experience in court case processing, legal secretarial work, or related field. - Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures, research methodology, and court fee accounting practices. - Strong organizational and communication skills. - Ability to interact positively with co-workers, clients, the public, judges, and justices.
