Certified Court Monitor
Las Cruces, NM

The Third Judicial District Court is seeking a Certified Court Monitor to join their team in Las Cruces, New Mexico. This full-time, permanent position offers a competitive salary range of $15.699 - $31.398 per hour or $32,654 - $65,308 annually. The Court Monitor will be responsible for accurately recording and documenting judicial proceedings, supporting all types of court hearings, and ensuring proper record keeping procedures are followed. This position requires a high school diploma or GED and one year of experience in court case processing or a related field. Court Monitor Certification must be obtained within six months of hire.

Key Responsibilities:
● Accurately record and document judicial proceedings, including civil, criminal, domestic, and family court hearings as well as jury trials
● Operate and set up audio recording equipment or digital recording system
● Time-stamp events and generate accurate logs of proceedings
● Gather, file, and maintain court exhibits
● Troubleshoot and maintain technical equipment
● Act as a liaison between court personnel, litigants, and attorneys
● Conduct research and prepare orders and legal documents
● Perform duties of a Bailiff when necessary
● Travel to other locations to record hearings

Competencies/Qualifications:
● Knowledge of diverse types of court hearings and legal terminology
● Familiarity with digital recording and word processing software
● Understanding of courtroom procedures and practices
● Ability to maintain exhibits during trials, which may include hazardous items
● Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
