Business Development Specialist
Charlotte, NC Business Development Specialist - Law Firm Location: Multiple locations including Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Chicago, San Diego, Boston, Houston, New Orleans, Richmond, Philadelphia, Dallas, Charlotte, Wilmington, New York Type: Full Time Posted: Today Job Requisition ID: R2900 Join our team at Troutman Pepper, a leading law firm committed to employee support, advancement, and innovation. We are currently seeking a Business Development Specialist to support our Bankruptcy and Restructuring practice. In this role, you will work collaboratively with our Marketing and Business Development team to develop and implement strategies for cultivating business with current and prospective clients. You will also conduct research and analysis to inform targeted business development efforts, coordinate events and sponsorships, and assist with the creation of pitch materials and responses to RFPs. As the ideal candidate, you will have excellent communication skills, be highly motivated and creative, and possess strong project and process management experience. A four-year degree in business, finance, or marketing is preferred, along with a minimum of seven years of marketing and business development experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services organization. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement strategies to cultivate business with current and prospective clients. - Conduct research and analysis on clients, prospects, industries, competitors, and markets. - Coordinate events, sponsorships, webinars, and speaking engagements. - Work with the firm's communications team to promote the successes of our attorneys. - Assist with thought leadership and blog content for the practice group. - Identify cross-practice connections and opportunities for increased internal visibility. - Collect matter data for inclusion in our experience management system. - Create high-quality pitch materials, RFP responses, and client presentations. - Assist with legal directory and award submissions. - Manage marketing expenses and practice budgets. - Handle InterAction-related functions. - Communicate effectively with internal and external clients. - Maintain confidentiality of client information. - Remain flexible and manage demands outside of traditional business hours. Requirements: - Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. - Highly motivated, creative, and collaborative. - Organized and detail-oriented. - Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure and meet deadlines. - Ability to work independently and in a team. - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to provide high-quality service. - Self-management and ability to work in a hybrid and in-office setting. - Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. - Proactive and flexible in a fast-paced environment. Education and Experience: - Four-year degree in business, finance, or marketing preferred. - Minimum of seven years of marketing and business development experience. - Strong project and process management experience.
