Law Clerk Intern - Summer 2025

H1: Law Clerk Intern - Summer 2025 Opportunity at NJM Insurance H2: Gain Valuable Experience in Workers' Compensation Claims Legal Department - Paid summer internship opportunity at NJM Insurance in Trenton, NJ - Part-time position, with a structured program for law students - Gain hands-on experience in litigation of workers' compensation claims - Work closely with in-house attorneys on meaningful tasks and projects - Conduct legal research, proofread and cite check legal briefs, and prepare legal memos - Assist in taking witness statements and conducting interviews - Shadow attorneys for court appearances and learn about the claims life cycle - Opportunity to work on a team intern project and present to top leaders - Attend informational interviews and self-paced leadership training - Participate in fun activities, such as attending a Trenton Thunder game and volunteering events - Equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusivity - Competitive salary and benefits package based on experience and education Responsibilities: - Prepare summaries of new case law and conduct legal research - Review motions and prepare answers under attorney supervision - Assist in preparing cases for court and shadow attorneys for court appearances - Learn about the claims life cycle by shadowing claims resolution specialists - Assist in data clean up and perform data analysis - Attend lunch with leaders and participate in team intern project - Attend informational interviews and self-paced leadership training - Participate in fun activities, such as attending a Trenton Thunder game and volunteering events Requirements: - 2L law student with an interest in joining an in-house legal department - Strong interest in labor, workers' compensation, and/or personal injury law - Strong writing, research, and communication skills - Detail-oriented with a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher - Experience on a law review or law journal is preferred - Writing sample requested, if possible Testimonials: - John: "NJM is a place to learn and grow.
