Position Summary: The Senior Manager, Insurance and Claims Management is responsible for strategically managing insurance claims for all coverage lines, proactively managing the insurance portfolio, and leading efforts to mitigate risks and reduce the organization's Total Cost of Risk. This position is based in Northbrook, IL, with the possibility of remote work in certain states. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee and actively manage insurance claims for all lines of coverage, including internal and external communication - Provide timely claim reporting and notification to carriers or third-party administrators - Act as a subject matter expert on laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures related to claims - Identify risk transfer opportunities and educate internal stakeholders - Develop operational risk management strategies and best practices - Maintain the Risk Management Information System (RMIS) - Oversee the certificate of insurance program - Develop and distribute key reports and analyses - Develop strategies to improve processes and procedures - Partner with the Risk Management Administrator to manage the department's internal SharePoint site - Other projects as assigned Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Law, Risk Management, or Business - 5 years of experience in end-to-end handling of complex insurance claims - Familiarity with corporate insurance programs - Understanding of risk management, claims administration, safety, and loss control - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Self-motivated, innovative, strategic, detail-oriented - Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills - Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office - JD/admitted attorney (preferred) - Experience with a Risk Management Information System (RMIS) (preferred) - Experience with global commercial insurance programs (preferred) - Experience working in a global company (preferred) - Experience working in a pharmaceutical company (preferred) Benefits: - Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance - Generous Paid Time Off options, including Vacation and Sick time, plus national holidays - 401k match and annual company contribution - Company-paid life insurance - Annual Corporate Bonus and Quarterly Sales Incentive - Long Term Incentive Plan - Referral bonus program Equal Opportunity Employer: Astellas is committed to equality of opportunity in all aspects of employment.
