- Build relationships with stakeholders and maintain an updated understanding of BCSD policies and legal regulations
- Organize and manage multiple projects as directed by the General Counsel
- Assist in preparing strategic reports and presentations related to district legal issues
- Conduct audits of legal document management practices
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Chief Legal Officer, Superintendent, or Deputy Superintendent
- Possess an Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies or related field
- Paralegal certification from an ABA accredited program preferred
- Excellent legal research, proofreading, and organizational skills
- Proficient in standard computer applications, including Westlaw and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail
- Must be a self-starter and able to adapt to a fast-paced environment
- Ability to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to handle confidential information discreetly
- Bachelor's degree and background in education law, employment law, and/or transactional matters preferred
- At least five years of progressive experience in a professional work environment
