Pikeville, KY Law Clerk - Department of Public Advocacy, Pikeville Trial Office - $50,004 Annually - Full Time - No Experience Required H1: Law Clerk Position Available at Department of Public Advocacy in Pikeville Trial Office H2: Join Our Team as a Law Clerk and Make a Difference in Your Community The Department of Public Advocacy (DPA) is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Law Clerk in the Pikeville Trial Office. Our organization is nationally recognized for our exceptional training and education program, and we are dedicated to ensuring fair and just outcomes in the criminal justice system while protecting individual liberties. As a Law Clerk, you will work closely with our criminal defense team, including attorneys, investigators, and administrative staff, to provide support through legal research and writing, client interviews, and other duties as needed. This is a full-time position with a pay grade of 14, offering an annual salary of $50,004 and eligibility for overtime pay. Our employment type is Executive Branch, and we offer a 37.5-hour workweek with minimal travel required. To be considered for this position, you must have completed at least 24 semester hours at an American Bar Association accredited law school. No prior experience is required, but we are looking for individuals who have a strong desire to help the most vulnerable in their communities and understand the privilege of representing our clients on behalf of the people of Kentucky. This position is also ideal for recent law school graduates who are planning to take the bar exam or have recently received their license to practice law.
