Paralegal
Pawleys Island, SC Compensation Based on Experience The Law Firm in Pawleys Island, South Carolina is seeking a highly organized Paralegal to support attorneys in a fast-paced office environment. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience and a paralegal certification, along with a bachelor's degree in legal studies. Responsibilities: - Prepare and transmit legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, and agreements - Investigate facts and public records as needed - Communicate with courts, agencies, and other institutions - Perform clerical duties such as scheduling and calendaring deadlines and hearings - Create and maintain virtual document files - File documents with courts and administrative bodies - Maintain shared office calendars and individual attorney calendars - Proactively provide reminders of upcoming deadlines - Ensure proper indexing and filing of legal documents Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in legal studies or two years of related experience and/or training - Paralegal certification preferred - Superior communication skills, both verbal and written - High level of organization and attention to detail - Problem-solving and analysis skills - Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and timekeeping software; familiarity with MAC a plus - Knowledge of litigation documentation and filing procedures About the Firm: - Certified as a Great Place to Work for 2023-2024 - Ranked as one of Vault's 2024 Top 150 Under 150 and Top 5 Best Midsize Firms - 50-member team of attorneys and support staff - Remote attorneys supported by paralegals and operations staff in South Carolina office - Practice areas include Medicaid eligibility and reimbursement, administrative appeals, civil litigation, probate, estate claims, and guardianships To apply, submit a cover letter, resume, and at least three professional references.
