Supervising Attorney, Community Justice Worker Resource Center
Nome, AK ALSC provides free legal services to low-income Alaskans in 33 offices across the state. Organization: **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** (ALSC) Job Title: Supervising Attorney, Community Justice Worker Resource Center Experience: Minimum of three years legal experience Salary: $76,967-115,446 DOE and Location Benefits: Generous benefits and leave package provided, including partial reimbursement of relocation expenses. Personal leave begins at six weeks per year for a full-time employee. ALSC observes 15 paid holidays. Responsibilities: • Lead ALSC’s Community Justice Worker Resource Center (CJWRC) • Oversee administrative functions of the office • Supervise Community Justice Workers (located throughout Alaska) and support staff • Train CJWs for Alaska Bar Rule 43.5 eligibility • Assist clients facing critical legal issues • Manage and review caseloads, including litigation before courts and administrative agencies • Prepare grant applications and reports • Serve as agency representative in the community • Conduct community legal education • Travel to assigned areas for client services, intake, and community relations Requirements: • Admitted to practice law in Alaska or admitted to practice in another state and eligible for an Alaska Bar Rule 43 waiver • Computer proficiency (Windows operating system, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Internet, e-mail and data entry) • Minimum of three years legal experience Desired Qualifications: • One year management experience • Demonstrated commitment to serving low-income individuals • Ability to gain clients’ trust • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Experience working in rural Alaska • Background working in cross-cultural situations ALSC is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and is committed to building a culturally diverse and inclusive workplace.
