H2: Make a Difference in the Fight Against Cancer H2: Job Title: Associate Corporate Counsel, Contracts (IT) H2: Location: Alameda, CA H2: Employment Type: Full Time Overview: Exelixis, a leading biotech company, is seeking a talented and dedicated Associate Corporate Counsel to join our Legal Department. In this role, you will have the opportunity to support and work collaboratively with various departments within the company, including IT, Information Security, Real Estate, Facilities, Finance/Accounting, Human Resources, and more. As we continue to grow and expand our global partnerships, we are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the fight against cancer. Responsibilities: - Draft, revise, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including NDAs, master services agreements, consulting/professional services agreements, and more. - Advise on existing agreements and identify potential risks. - Communicate effectively with internal clients and provide sound legal advice. - Ensure contracts accurately reflect business terms while protecting the company's interests. - Collaborate with other Legal Department team members to develop templates and playbooks. - Maintain and improve contracting systems, processes, and procedures. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree, preferably in life sciences or a related field. - JD degree and minimum one year of related experience required. - Must be admitted to practice, preferably in California. - At least three years of relevant transactional experience as an attorney. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Strong organizational and time management abilities. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
