Associate Counsel
Virginia Beach, VA Associate Counsel - Virginia Beach, VA (Remote) GEICO is seeking an experienced Associate Counsel to join their team and defend lawsuits filed in Virginia courts. This is a full-time, remote position with the potential for travel to attend trials, hearings, and other meetings. Job Responsibilities: - Conduct legal research and prepare briefs, opinions, and memoranda. - Provide opinions on liability, damages, and value to the Claims Department. - Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and examinations. - Defend assigned matters at trial or dispositive hearings. Qualifications: - 2-6 years of related field litigation experience in insurance defense or personal injury. - Juris Doctor degree and admission to the Virginia Bar. - Must be able to travel as needed. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Strong organization and multitasking abilities. Preferred Qualifications: - Civil litigation experience. - Insurance defense-related litigation experience. Salary: $116,000 - $181,000 per year *Final salary offer will be determined based on various factors, including experience and location.
