Toms River, NJ H1: Senior Prelitigation Paralegal - Team Lead (Hybrid) at Law Firm in Toms River, NJ H2: Join a Prestigious Law Firm Committed to Delivering Exceptional Legal Services Overview: - Full-time Senior Prelitigation Paralegal - Team Lead position at forward-thinking law firm - Hybrid schedule of 3-days on-site per week - Team leadership role, overseeing work and mentoring junior paralegals - Managing pre-litigation paralegal duties and caseload of personal injury cases from intake until Complaint is filed Responsibilities: - Provide guidance and direction to team, setting goals and strategies for efficiency and productivity - Track daily metrics and overdue tasks, ensuring compliance - Manage team's caseload, meeting deadlines and progressing cases as planned - Train new case managers and assistants - Prepare and file legal documents, ensuring compliance with procedures and deadlines - Oversee workload management, address conflicts, and inspire professionalism Case Manager Duties: - Manage own caseload of 100 personal injury cases from intake until litigation - Conduct 30-day calls with clients regarding medical care, providers, and treatment status - Review cases independently and conduct investigations to gather necessary information - Establish No-Fault and Bodily Injury claims - Open claims with insurance companies - Knowledge of No-Fault applications, filing procedures, and deadlines - Process lost wage claims - Retrieve police reports - Understand personal injury threshold and Motor Vehicle Indemnification Corp procedures - Set up property damage claims - Obtain property deeds - Conduct corporate business searches for premises liability claims - Knowledge of OPRA & FOIL requests - Understand personal injury statutes of limitations for NJ, NY, and PA - Accurately enter information in Litify database for insurance and provider tabs - Obtain and document outstanding liens, such as medical and worker's compensation - Update and maintain client information in Litify database - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills - Prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines consistently Qualifications: - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills - Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines consistently - Certification is a plus, but not required with prior prelitigation experience at a law firm(s) - Past experience working on personal injury caseload - Bilingual proficiency is a plus Salary Information: $80,000 - $85,000 USD Benefits for Full-time Employees and Part-time Employees over 30 hours per week: - Competitive salary - Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance - Paid time off and sick time Equal Opportunity Statement: - Law firm provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment - Prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws E-Verify: - Law firm participates in E-Verify to confirm authorization to work in the U.S. - If E-Verify cannot confirm authorization, employer will provide instructions and opportunity to resolve issue before taking any action No 3rd Party Recruitment Firms. |
