Role and Responsibilities:
As a Manager of Global Medical and Healthcare Claims, you will be responsible for managing a team of Senior Claims Specialists and Claims Specialists I-II. This team handles a wide variety of low to moderately high exposure healthcare liability claims. You will report to the Director of Healthcare Environmental and Products Liability Claims and be responsible for conveying the organization's objectives and priorities to staff and measuring progress towards stated goals. Your responsibilities will include:

- Directing and monitoring assignments of new loss activity
- Reviewing and approving correspondence and reports
- Reviewing and approving reserves and settlements in excess of examiner's authority
- Making recommendations concerning reserve changes to director or senior management
- Participating in review and discussion of large loss activity with interested stakeholders (UW, PL, Actuarial, Executive Management)
- Ensuring that team adheres to Fair Claims Practices regulations and internal Claims Quality Performance Objectives
- Assessing and evaluating individual examiner and team performance, providing feedback and developing training needs
- Preparing and distributing reports by collecting and summarizing information
- Assisting in preparation of budgets, evaluating expenses, and assessing resource needs
- Fostering and encouraging strong relationships with internal stakeholders (UW, PL, Actuarial)
- Promoting and enhancing strong relationships with customers and channel partners
- Participating in special projects as requested
- Traveling to other claim offices, mediations, trials, and conferences as required

Education and Certification:
To be considered for this position, you should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. A JD, advanced degree, or focused technical degree is a plus. You must also have or be eligible to receive a claims adjuster license. Successful achievement of industry designations (INS, IEA, AIC, ARM, SCLA, CPCU) or I-Lead or other Management Training is also desirable.

Experience and Skill Sets:
We are looking for someone with a minimum of 10 years of claims handling experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior management experience is a plus, and successful completion of 5 years as a Senior Claims Examiner or Executive Examiner is preferred. In addition, you should possess the following skill sets:

- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Ability to deliver outstanding customer service
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Word)
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Strong desire for continuous improvement

Pay Information:
The salary for this position is competitive and will be based on experience and qualifications.
