PARALEGAL OR ASSISTANT PARALEGAL

Position: Paralegal or Assistant Paralegal
Organization: Office of the Federal Public Defender, Western District of Texas
Location: Alpine, Texas
Salary: Starting salary ranges from $59,966 to $122,198 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
Benefits: Federal government employment benefits, including health and life insurance, retirement, and Thrift Savings Plan.
Experience: Three to five years of relevant experience for paralegal position, and two years of experience for assistant paralegal position.
Education: Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate from an accredited program for paralegal position, and high school diploma or equivalent for assistant paralegal position.
Language Skills: Spanish-language fluency required.
Selection Criteria: Knowledge of law office operations, legal practices, and criminal law, procedure, and evidence. Prior federal court litigation experience preferred.
Duties: Legal and administrative duties, including researching legal issues, drafting motions and orders, managing electronic case files, and assisting attorneys with hearings and trials.
