Director Of Restorative Practices & Culture
Holyoke, MA **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** is seeking an experienced Director of Restorative Practices and Culture to join their team. This full-time salaried position reports directly to the Vice President of People, Culture, and Equity and offers a competitive salary range of $85,599.66 - $92,655.79 annually, plus a comprehensive state benefits package. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree and a minimum of five years of experience in human development, legal, human resources, or counseling with a concentration in restorative practices/justice. Experience working with diverse communities and in areas of conflict resolution and management is also required. The Director of Restorative Practices and Culture will play a crucial role in driving sustainable systems change at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. They will work to prevent conflict and wrongdoing from escalating, while also focusing on resolving conflict, repairing harm, and healing relationships. This position will collaborate with other departments to facilitate its work, including the Director of Community Standards and Well-Being, Affirmative Action/Title IX, Human Resources, academic departments, and deans. The director will also provide leadership in implementing restorative practices, including training and support for staff and faculty members, students, and families. Key responsibilities of this role include: - Driving sustainable systems change through context-specific projects and resources - Supporting the core values and mission of the institution and using that as a tool to drive mindset changes with individuals - Designing learning activities and curriculum development - Understanding higher education and its ecosystem, including how to communicate using metrics and institutional language - Deep commitment to supporting students, faculty, and staff to adopt restorative practices within the institution - Strong knowledge of research-based restorative justice practices and other effective strategies for improving climate and culture - Taking a leadership role in managing the response and intervention system - Promoting an equitable, accessible, and inclusive school community - Developing programs and initiatives for conflict resolution and social connections - Interacting with a wide range of stakeholders both within the institution and the external community - Providing an assets-based framework for working with diverse cultural backgrounds - Understanding of the social, economic, and cultural systems of “people and culture” and how they affect different communities - Ability to think strategically to identify and articulate equitable solutions - Ability to have courageous conversations about issues of race, class, gender, sexuality, migration, and ability - Demonstrating a deep commitment to HCC’s mission, strategic and equity plans, and its core values - Providing recommendations and feedback to the Vice President for People, Culture, and Equity - Developing assessment measures to ensure goals are achieved - Serving on college committees and professional organizations - Performing special projects and related responsibilities as assigned The qualifications for this position include: - Master’s degree is required - Minimum of five (5) years of experience in human development, legal, human resources, or counseling with a concentration in restorative practices/justice - Experience working with diverse communities to advance issues related to people, culture, and equity - Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution and management, skilled negotiation, dispute settlement, or change leadership - Organized labor, union, and collective bargaining experience - Strong written and oral interpersonal skills - Ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body Candidates who do not meet the qualifications are encouraged to explain how their background and experience have prepared them for this role. The preferred qualifications for this position include: - Juris Prudence (J.D.) degree - 3-5 years of experience - Experience working in a higher education environment - Knowledge of management or leadership skills - Bilingual This is a full-time, non-unit professional position with a salary range of $85,599.66 - $92,655.79 per year, plus a comprehensive state benefits package.
