About The Role:
- Serve as a key leader in both the Legal team and the broader **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** leadership team
- Operationalize key processes and build scalable solutions for continued success of Legal initiatives at Apollo
- Focus on scaling product counseling processes alongside product and engineering teams
- Resident expert for all things privacy and privacy compliance
- Manage a team of privacy and product counsel, privacy analysts, and compliance professionals
- Advise cross-functional teams on meeting strategic objectives while complying with laws, regulations, and customer requirements
- Build and maintain a privacy compliance program that scales to meet changing global regulations
- Collaborate with security team on shared goals and objectives
- Support commercial legal function and go-to-market teams in privacy-related contracting questions
- Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for product and business teams
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments and minimize risks for the future
- Serve as a general deputy for all matters facing the Legal team

Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain a privacy compliance program, including maintaining compliance as a registered data broker
- Develop product review and counseling process in partnership with product team
- Instill a culture of privacy-by-design through trainings and new compliance-related requirements
- Provide leadership in data subject access request process
- Create and maintain documentation of current processes and risks
- Enhance customer trust and negotiate customer contracts
- Build and maintain product and privacy compliance roadmap
- Lead project planning initiatives with product and engineering teams
- Work with security, fraud, and IT teams on incident response and vendor risk management
- Advise on frontier technologies related to product plans

Qualifications:
- JD and member of a relevant U.S. state bar in good standing
- At least 8 years of law firm and in-house experience
- Experience counseling technology product teams with privacy-related aspects
- Prior team management experience
- Deep knowledge of global privacy compliance and emerging regulations
- Experience with intellectual property issues related to data use
- Ability to translate between business and technical risk
- Self-initiative and desire for impact and achievement
- Pragmatic approach and ability to prioritize tasks
- Builder-mentality and collaborative attitude
- Comfort with fast-paced environments
- Positive attitude and sense of humor

Preferred, but not required:
- Experience managing litigation and/or regulatory enforcement
- Familiarity with privacy software and technology
- Interest and aptitude for privacy thought leadership
- Experience with international compliance issues
