Pre-Litigation Personal Injury Paralegal
Rockville, MD Salary Information The salary for this position is competitive and will be based on experience and qualifications. Job Title Pre-Litigation Personal Injury Paralegal Experience 2 years of personal injury paralegal experience, preferably in Maryland and/or Washington, D.C. Job Location Rockville, MD Job Type Full Time Department Legal Support Responsibilities Drafting letters and other forms of correspondence. Preparing FOIA Requests. Obtaining and organizing documentation required at different stages of pre-litigation. Coordinating with the Investigator to obtain photos of scene and witness statements when needed. Processing PIP/MedPay. Obtaining prior injury/medical and claims/lawsuits history and reviewing all medical records. Maintaining regular contact with clients. Preparing notice letters to Medicare/Medicaid and lienholders. Drafting and sending out demand packages, and monitoring receipt and processing of demand. Preparing closing statements, check account balances, and process disbursement. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (preferred), and/or paralegal education. Minimum of 2 years of personal injury paralegal experience, preferably in Maryland and/or Washington, D.C. Ability to manage multiple tasks, deliver results, and maintain quality while working under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Detail oriented and organized. Ability to work effectively in collaboration with others. Strong research skills and excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated proficiency and experience with a broad range of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Foreign language skills are considered a plus, but not required.
