Assistant District Attorney - Nome District Attorney's Office

The Nome District Attorney's Office is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to serve as an assistant district attorney. This position offers the opportunity to prosecute criminal cases on behalf of the State of Alaska, including pre-trial motion practice, court hearings, jury trials, and post-conviction and appellate work. The ideal candidate will possess strong oral advocacy skills and the ability to think critically and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Prior trial experience and knowledge of criminal law is preferred but not required.

Experience:
- Prior trial experience preferred
- Knowledge of criminal law is a plus

Responsibilities:
- Prosecuting criminal cases on behalf of the State of Alaska
- Pre-trial motion practice
- Daily court hearings
- Jury trials
- Post-conviction and appellate work
- Ability to think critically and reason logically
- Strong oral advocacy skills
- Effective communication, both verbal and written
- Ability to prioritize and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment
- Manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Some travel to surrounding villages and occasional visits to Anchorage

Estimated Compensation:
- Based on combination of judicial clerking and licensed legal experience
