Job Summary: NREL is seeking a Strategic Partnership Development Lead to join our Energy Security, Resilience, and Integration (ESRI) Directorate. In this role, you will be responsible for expanding NREL's relationships with diverse partners and driving impactful partnerships for clean energy solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong collaboration and communication skills, as well as experience in developing successful business development strategies. Key Responsibilities: - Partner with sector managers and directorate leadership to develop BD strategies, goals, and budgets - Work with sector BD leads and key principal investigators to define and build directorate capabilities - Assist with project technical team creation and key BD meetings with potential partners - Identify leverage points with DOE programs and support achievement of booking targets - Mentor and develop staff to perform business development within the directorate - Represent SPO and act as a conduit of information between the directorate and SPO - Collaborate with SPO, TTO, and NREL's research community to achieve strategic partnership development goals - Monitor progress against annual BD goals and manage portfolio of opportunities - Work with domain experts to develop compelling solutions for partners - Help partners understand how to work and contract with NREL - Report progress to executive management and ensure accuracy of portfolio in NREL's CRM system - Coordinate with line management and principal investigators to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction - Seek learning and coaching opportunities to improve skills and grow Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's, Master's, PhD, or JD degree in a relevant field - 14 years of experience in business, science, technology, or social science - Advanced technical knowledge and understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and procedures - Superior leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills - Ability to use various computer software programs Additional Required Qualifications: - Exceptional collaboration, team building, and communication skills - Experience in developing successful business development strategies - Familiarity with clean energy technologies and laboratory capabilities - Demonstrated project management and customer relationship experience - Experience in collaborative partnership development and contract execution - Proven history of maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction - Excellent organizational and oral/written communication skills - Active security clearance or ability to obtain one (DOE Q SCI) Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree - Previous experience in government or research lab environment - In-depth technical experience in clean technology areas - Experience using CRM solutions, specifically Salesforce Annual Salary Range: $114,500 - $206,100 (based on full-time 40 hours per week) Benefits: - Medical, dental, and vision insurance - Short- and long-term disability insurance - Pension benefits - 403(b) Employee Savings Plan with employer match - Life and AD&D insurance - PTO, sick leave, and paid holidays - Tuition reimbursement - Potential for performance-based awards - Relocation expense reimbursement (for eligible positions) Submission Guidelines: To be considered for any position at NREL, you must submit an application form for each position you are qualified for.
