Associate Attorney
Salt Lake City, UT Job Title: Associate Attorney - Insurance Defense Department: General Insurance Defense Job Type: Full-Time Salary: Competitive, based on experience Experience: Minimum 2 years in General Insurance Defense Location: Salt Lake City, UT Responsibilities: - Handle a substantial caseload involving civil litigation and insurance defense litigation in various areas such as medical malpractice, general liability, products liability, and business litigation for nationwide clients. - Draft, prepare, and handle pleadings, motions, orders, and legal memoranda. - Conduct legal research and respond to written discovery and dispositive motions. - Prepare and take depositions of parties and experts. - Review client documents, draft case evaluations, and status report correspondence. - Assist with and participate in trial preparation, mediations, and court appearances. - Interact directly with clients, claim professionals, opposing counsel, colleagues, and staff. Requirements: - Licensed to practice in Utah state and federal district courts. - Minimum of 2 years' experience in General Insurance Defense. - Additional admissions to surrounding states preferred. - Strong legal research and analytical skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Proficiency in MS Office and navigating the internet. - Knowledge of state and federal court procedures. Skills and Abilities: - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Strong attention to detail with superb organization and prioritization skills. - Ability to handle a variety of cases and move from case to case. - Ability to interact with clients and colleagues with professionalism and integrity.
