This role will be responsible for managing an inventory of sales/use and gross receipts tax audits for select Verizon entities and associated reserves. The Senior Manager will work closely with other tax groups to ensure favorable resolutions of tax audits. This position will also have the opportunity to present to upper management and will directly impact cash taxes, free cash flow, and earnings per share. Key Responsibilities: - Develop audit strategies, respond to inquiries, negotiate settlements, and present audit impacts - Work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment - Demonstrate an understanding of transaction tax laws and the ability to negotiate favorable outcomes - Utilize data analytics skills to extract and present large amounts of data - Calculate and monitor FAS 5 Reserves for Contingent Gains and Losses - Partner with other tax groups to ensure favorable resolutions of tax audits Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Analytics/Business Intelligence, or related discipline - Six years of relevant work experience - Experience with sales/use and gross receipts tax audits - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suites - Advanced degree in Law, Accounting, Taxation, Finance, Management Information Systems, or Computer Science preferred - Experience in the technology and/or telecommunications industry preferred - Professional certification (CPA, CMI) a plus - Experience as an auditor for a taxing authority a plus Working at Verizon: Verizon is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
