Technical Claim Specialist -commercial Property

Church Mutual is seeking a Technical Claim Specialist for Commercial Property to handle large, complex claim files, including litigated matters, catastrophic claims, umbrella claims, and more. The position offers a competitive salary range of $80,800 to $121,100 per year. The Technical Claim Specialist will be responsible for managing claim activities in accordance with state and federal laws, making coverage decisions, performing thorough investigations, determining and setting reserves, and negotiating directly with insureds and claimants. They will also provide guidance to other claim handlers, direct the work of defense attorneys, and attend mediations, depositions, and trials. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with eight or more years of experience in technical insurance claim roles, along with a bachelor's degree (or equivalent education and experience). Additional legal education or a law degree is highly desirable, and completion of AIC and/or CPCU is preferred. Strong negotiation and communication skills, as well as knowledge of policy terminology and emerging industry trends, are also necessary.
