Purpose of Position:

- Seeking Assistant/Associate Professor of Law for full-time, tenure-track or tenured position
- Primary responsibilities include scholarship, service, and teaching in the curricular area of Lawyering skills/Legal writing
- Opportunity to contribute to curriculum and student success through additional teaching responsibilities
- Preference for candidates with experience teaching legal research and writing, and interest in teaching Civil Procedure, Criminal Law, Contracts, or Property
- 9-month position with potential for tenure

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Teach several content courses per academic year
- Other teaching opportunities such as individualized courses, course development, or student advising/mentorship
- Conduct scholarly research and writing
- Participate in service and other activities, including serving on law school and/or university committees and professional service

Required Competencies:

- Ability to collaborate with faculty and staff colleagues
- Passion for working with law students
- Ability to teach in areas of interest
- Experience working in a diverse and inclusive environment

Minimum Requirements:

- J.D. degree from a law school in the United States or equivalent degree from a non-U.S. school
- Three years of work experience (including judicial clerkships) after obtaining J.D. or equivalent degree
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications:

- At least one year of teaching experience in legal research or legal writing at a law school
- Experience as a teaching assistant or equivalent for a legal writing or research course during law school
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching or potential to become an excellent teacher
- Evidence of scholarly research potential
- Involvement in service within a law school and to legal or educational organizations
- Strong academic record
