- Seeking attorneys to join the Office of the General Counsel (OGC) Civil Rights Division to advise on enforcement of HIPAA regulations.

Duties:

- Provide legal advice and services to OCR on enforcement and administration of HIPAA Privacy, Security, and Breach Notification Rules.
- Support OCR's enforcement of potential HIPAA violations by covered entities and business associates.
- Assist with defending challenges to agency actions before administrative law judges and in federal court.
- Provide legal advice on policy development and rulemaking activities related to health privacy and cybersecurity.
- Serve as an advisor on matters related to health information privacy and security.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Demonstrated interest in HIPAA Rules, health information privacy, and cybersecurity.
- Administrative or federal court litigation experience preferred.
- Familiarity with the Administrative Procedure Act or regulatory experience is desirable.

Qualifications Required:

- Juris Doctorate (J.D.) or LL.B from an accredited ABA law school.
- Active bar status in good standing.
- Varying levels of professional legal experience required depending on GS level.

Conditions of Employment:

- Must possess a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited ABA law school.
- Must maintain active bar membership in good standing and eligibility to practice law.
