Associate Counsel - Job Description H1: Defend Lawsuits and Provide Legal Support for Insurance Defense H2: Join GEICO as an Associate Counsel in Marlton, NJ GEICO, one of the leading insurance companies in the United States, is seeking an experienced Associate Counsel to defend lawsuits filed in New Jersey courts and provide first party insurance defense. This is a remote position, with the location being Marlton, NJ. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct legal research and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda - Provide opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department - Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions, examinations before trial, examinations under oath, and defending by trial or dispositive hearing - Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations while handling assigned matters Qualifications: - 2 to 6 years of litigation experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury - Juris Doctor degree and admission to the New Jersey Bar - Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in New Jersey and meet and maintain licensing requirements, including mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE) where applicable - Ability to travel as needed for trials, hearings, depositions, and meetings - Strong communication and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications: - Civil litigation experience - Experience in insurance defense-related litigation Salary Information: - Annual salary range of $110,000.00 - $171,000.00 - Final salary offer will be based on multiple factors such as job responsibilities, work experience, education, and market considerations Benefits: - Total Rewards Program, including medical, dental, and vision insurance with no waiting period - Paid vacation, sick, and parental leave - 401(k) plan and tuition reimbursement - Paid training and licensures Note: Benefits may vary by location and eligibility requirements may apply.
