Morgan & Morgan, a leading personal injury law firm, is seeking a highly organized and experienced Litigation Assistant to join our team in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. As a Litigation Assistant, you will work closely with a lead attorney and litigation paralegal to support them in various administrative and clerical tasks. This role requires someone with a high level of organizational skills, the ability to multitask and prioritize, and experience in a fast-paced legal environment.

Responsibilities include performing administrative duties such as scheduling hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics. You will also be responsible for maintaining pleadings and discovery indexes, organizing exhibits and evidence, and drafting and proofreading legal documents. Additionally, you will assist with client billing, communicate with clients and witnesses, and provide general administrative support to the attorney.

To be considered for this position, you must have a high school diploma or GED, as well as at least 2 years of experience as an Administrative Assistant in a law firm or corporate legal department. An Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies, Bachelor’s Degree, or Paralegal Certificate is preferred. Experience in Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, Premises, First Party, or other injury-related practice areas is also preferred. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

- Perform administrative duties, such as scheduling hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics
- Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes
- Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
- Implement and improve upon administrative processes for more efficient workflow
- Collect, examine, and organize evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation
- Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents, such as pleadings and contracts
- Research regulations, laws, and legal articles to assist with the preparation of reports, case files, and legal advice
- Manage client billing and resolve billing issues in cooperation with the billing attorney
- Communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings, interviews, and depositions
- Manage, organize, and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing systems
- Provide general administrative assistance, such as maintaining the attorney’s calendar and making travel arrangements

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED
- Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies, Bachelor’s Degree, or a Paralegal Certificate (preferred)
- Experience in Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, Premises, First Party, or other injury-related practice areas (preferred)
- At least 2 years of experience as an Administrative Assistant preferably in a law firm setting or in a corporate legal department.
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize, handle a fast-paced environment, and manage workload with a great attitude and minimal supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including good presentation skills
