Wadena, MN - Job Title: Paralegal or Legal Assistant, Family Law - Location: Detroit Lakes, Minnesota - Salary: Competitive wage based on education and experience - Experience: Prior law firm or financial-sector experience preferred but not required, Pemberton Law will provide training - Employment Type: Full-time, in-office (non-remote) - Department: Family Law - Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm (37.5 hours per week) H1: Join Our Team as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant in the Family Law Department H2: Gain Experience in a Fast-Paced Legal Environment Pemberton Law, a reputable law firm located in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, is seeking a talented and driven individual to join our team as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant in the Family Law department. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with an assigned attorney on a variety of family law matters such as divorce, child custody, adoption, and child support. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds to apply for this position. As a Paralegal or Legal Assistant in the Family Law department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficiency, meeting deadlines, and communicating with all relevant parties. Your responsibilities will include drafting pleadings and documents, filing and serving documents, scheduling hearings and mediations, and corresponding with opposing attorneys, clients, and other external entities. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing emails and court filings and completing any other tasks as assigned. To excel in this role, we are looking for someone who is proactive, has excellent written and verbal communication skills, and possesses exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities. You should also be organized, detail-oriented, and able to work well under pressure. While prior law firm or financial-sector experience is preferred, it is not required. Pemberton Law is committed to providing training for suitable candidates. This is a non-supervisory position that offers an hourly rate of pay and qualifies for overtime. The physical requirements for this role include sitting for extended periods and lifting/moving file boxes as needed.
