- HLAB selects approximately 10-15 law students each summer to serve as Summer Counsel/Interns
- Summer Counsel/Interns will have the opportunity to interact directly with clients, opposing parties, witnesses, and government agencies
- Full-time positions, with alternative arrangements available for students with extenuating circumstances
- Stipend provided to help with living and moving expenses
- Summer Counsel/Interns serve as the primary case handlers and manage all aspects of the cases assigned to them
- Work is supervised by practicing attorneys with years of trial and supervision experience
- Students will be trained in relevant areas of the law
- Three primary practice areas available for Summer Counsel/Interns to gain experience in: Family Law, Housing Law, and Wage and Hour Law

The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** (HLAB) is currently seeking law students to join their Summer Internship Program. This program offers a unique and valuable experience for students looking to gain practical legal experience and advocate for clients in need. Summer Counsel/Interns will have the opportunity to interact directly with clients, opposing parties, witnesses, and government agencies, as well as manage all aspects of their assigned cases.

HLAB provides a stipend to assist with living and moving expenses for Summer Counsel/Interns. While most positions are full-time, alternative arrangements may be available for students facing extenuating circumstances. The work of Summer Counsel/Interns is supervised by practicing attorneys with years of trial and supervision experience, and students will receive comprehensive training in relevant areas of the law.

There are three primary practice areas available for Summer Counsel/Interns to gain experience in: Family Law, Housing Law, and Wage and Hour Law. In the Family Law practice, HLAB represents clients in various family matters such as divorces, paternity, visitation, child support, and custody disputes, as well as in family defense matters involving the Department of Children and Families. The Housing Law practice focuses on representing individual clients who are facing eviction from public, subsidized, and private housing. HLAB also partners with tenant unions and other organizations to advocate for affordable housing in the Greater Boston area. The Wage and Hour practice allows students to work on affirmative lawsuits addressing violations of state and federal labor laws.
