Salary:
- Juvenile Justice Specialist I: Annual Salary - $38,447.8536; Hourly Rate - $18.484545
- Juvenile Justice Specialist II: Annual Salary - $43,949.57632; Hourly Rate - $21.129604

Responsibilities:
- Provide services in the areas of rehabilitation of juvenile offenders and protection of the public through clinical and case management activities
- Conduct intake interviews with juvenile offenders, families, and victims and develop appropriate treatment plans
- Provide individual and group counseling; arrange for health screening; recommend and implement placement, including out-of-home placement and community reintegration
- Prepare reports for the court, District Attorney’s office and Parole Board; may testify in court as an expert witness
- Act as liaison to facilities, agencies and schools and participate on community councils and planning boards
- Conduct foster care studies and recruit foster parents
- Conduct diagnostic and evaluation interviews with residents placed in facilities and their families; prepare written social assessment and clinical treatment plans
- Develop and maintain expertise in specialized areas of treatment
- Make application for Title XIX and Title IV-E for custody juveniles
- Provide detention screening for law enforcement entities and coordinate detention placement
- Serve as advocate, presenter or administrative hearing officer in due process District Review Hearings

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science
- One year of professional experience in juvenile justice, social work, community-based prevention and diversionary youth services programs, guidance and counseling, correctional case management or probation and parole
- Master's degree or juris doctorate degree for Juvenile Justice Specialist II

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, legislation, policies and procedures related to juvenile justice and the investigation of juvenile delinquency
- Familiarity with community resources and social work theory and practices
- Understanding of human developmental stages and related dysfunction and the emotional, physical, and mental needs of children and families
- Ability to perform crisis intervention, casework management, and provide courtroom testimony
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills
- Willingness to work with courts and law enforcement entities

Special Requirements:
- Willingness to perform job-related travel and be on-call 24/7
- Possession of a valid Oklahoma driver's license
- Must pass background check, drug screening, and fingerprinting
- Trial period of 12 months
