Judicial Specialist 2

The Administrative Office of the Courts is seeking a full-time Judicial Specialist 2 for the Fourth Judicial Magistrate Court in Santa Rosa, New Mexico. This is a permanent, classified position with a pay range of $18.824 - $37.648 per hour or $39,154 - $78,308 annually. The selected candidate will be responsible for preparing and processing court documents, performing judicial procedures, and working with the court case management system.

Key Responsibilities:

● Prepare and process court documents using the case management system
● Provide customer service information to pro se litigants
● Assesses, receipts, records, and reconciles monies, and prepares bank deposits
● Process, maintain, and distribute documents, files, and case materials
● Use electronic filing to review incoming filings
● Process and expedite orders of protection
● Disburse bond payments and prepare bond reports
● Reconcile billing and invoices from contracted vendors
● Prepare, proofread, edit, and mail out documents
● Maintain cash till and ensure accurate court fees
● Provide public case information to parties, attorneys, and law enforcement agencies
● Order, review, sort, and organize jury summons
● Prepare alpha list, random list, voir dire sheet, and seating chart for jury trials
● Organize case files for microfilming, archiving, and destruction
● Prepare exhibits and hard copy case files
● Research automated, hard copy, and microfiche files
● Certify and prepare court records for cases on appeal
● Maintain operational office, courtrooms, and equipment
● Act as a court monitor
● Perform clerical and technical duties involved in case processing
● Manage jury trial calendar for judges
● Advise internal staff on jury procedures
● Serve as a courtroom clerk and obtain signatures from parties and counsel
● Provide support to other courts within the judicial district
● Instruct prospective jurors on completing information
● Answer phone calls and address correspondence
● Coordinate program participation with Specialty Programs
● Accept, maintain, and file court exhibits
● Gather, deliver, and file recordings
● Troubleshoot recording equipment
● Retain case material and mark for identification
● Act as a liaison between court personnel and litigants or attorneys
● Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

● High school diploma or GED
● Two years of experience in court case processing or related field
● Typing certification of at least 35 net words per minute
● May be requested to complete the NM Court Monitor Certification Examination
