Assistant City Attorney
Dallas, TX Organization: **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** Job Title: Assistant City Attorney Experience: At least five years of relevant experience Salary: Commensurate with experience Location: Dallas, Texas Overview: The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** is seeking an energetic, self-motivated attorney with at least five years of relevant experience to join their team as an Assistant City Attorney. This full-time position in the General Counsel Division requires the candidate to be licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas. The successful candidate must also possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Job Responsibilities: 1. Provide advice and counsel to the Dallas City Council, city manager, city secretary, and various city departments. 2. Negotiate and draft contracts for the procurement of goods and services, housing and economic development incentives, tax abatements, and grants and loans. 3. Write legal opinions, resolutions, ordinances, memoranda, and correspondence. 4. Analyze and advise on claims and disputes, open meetings, and other general legal advice. 5. Focus on multi-family housing and affordable housing development, and loan transactions using low-income housing tax credits, tax-exempt bonds, or federal and state funding. 6. Work closely with city staff to support the Dallas City Council and its boards and commissions, special districts, and local government instrumentalities. 7. Familiarity with various local, state, and federal laws and program requirements for municipal government. 8. Occasionally work with and advise litigators on matters. 9. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: 1. At least five years of relevant experience. 2. Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas. 3. Excellent oral and written communication skills. 4. Experience in municipal law, commercial or residential real estate development, affordable housing finance, government contracting, and/or procurement is a plus. 5.
