- Full-time position with a regular schedule of 40 hours per week
- Salary range of $9,293.53 - $10,937.50 (Monthly)
- Opportunity to work with federal law enforcement agencies such as the FBI and HHS-OIG
- Must pass an extensive background investigation and obtain a Top Secret federal security clearance
- Responsible for identifying, investigating, and prosecuting significant health care fraud cases
- Will be cross-designated as a Special United States Attorney and work with the United States Attorney's Office - Southern District
- Must commit to a three-year term with the MFCU/USAO
- Supervised by the Deputy Chief of Prosecution in the OAG MFCU Austin headquarters
- Must engage only in HCF investigation and prosecution activities with a Texas Medicaid nexus

The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Attorney General IV-V in the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU). The successful candidate will join a team dedicated to identifying, investigating, and prosecuting significant health care fraud cases. This position offers a salary range of $9,293.53 - $10,937.50 (Monthly) and the opportunity to work with federal law enforcement agencies such as the FBI and HHS-OIG.

As an Assistant Attorney General, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting complex criminal cases involving federal health care laws and regulations. This includes all phases of criminal prosecution from investigation to trial and the ability to analyze complex factual and legal issues. You will also provide legal opinions, briefs, pleadings, and other legal documents, as well as conduct legal research and report findings and conclusions.

Applicants must have a J.D. from an accredited law school, be licensed to practice law in Texas, and have at least 3 years of full-time litigation experience. Preferred qualifications include experience as a criminal prosecutor and knowledge of white collar crime litigation.
