Law Library Director
Beckley, WV Law Library Director - Reputed Firm - College of Law - $24911 H1: Join Our Team as a Law Library Director at a Reputed Firm in the College of Law H2: Take the Lead in Managing and Developing a Comprehensive Law Library Overview: The Law Library Director and Librarian at West Virginia University is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Law Library. This role reports directly to the WVU College of Law Dean and is part of the University Libraries system. The Director also holds a faculty appointment in the College, with rank and compensation based on qualifications and experience. Key Responsibilities: - Provide leadership and direction to library staff, delegate responsibilities, and create a positive work environment - Develop and implement library policies, procedures, and services to meet the needs of various patron groups and support the strategic plan - Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in academic law libraries, use assessment techniques to analyze data, and manage the library budget - Support faculty scholarship, development, and teaching, and work with them to select and evaluate library materials and resources - Manage personnel policies, recruit and evaluate staff, and promote professional development opportunities - Attend professional meetings and participate in development opportunities to enhance leadership skills and stay informed about new developments in the field - Serve as the official representative of the law library, establish effective relationships, and lead outreach initiatives Qualifications: - J.D. degree from an ABA accredited school - Master's degree in library or information science from an ALA accredited school - Minimum of 5 years of experience in Law Library leadership Benefits: - Competitive salary of $24911 - Opportunities for personal and professional growth at a nationally recognized institution - Supportive community that values work-life balance and promotes a collaborative atmosphere - Commitment to diversity and inclusivity among faculty, staff, and students Join our team at West Virginia University, where your work will have a lasting impact on the state and its residents.
