Organization **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** Job Title Family Law and Victims' Rights Attorney Job Description The Family Law and Victims' Rights Attorney at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** provides high-quality, low-barrier holistic legal services to victims of domestic and sexual violence and stalking in Kennebec and Somerset Counties. The attorney will also be expected to provide occasional coverage for Family Law and Victim Rights cases in other areas of Maine. This is a full-time, exempt position with a salary range of $67,140 - $104,140, depending on experience. Key Responsibilities: - Provide legal services to victims of domestic and sexual violence and stalking in Kennebec and Somerset Counties - Occasionally cover Family Law and Victim Rights cases in other areas of Maine - Work under the direction of the Family Law and Victim Rights supervisor and collaboratively within the Unit - Provide legal advocacy ranging from advice and limited representation to full representation in appropriate cases - Focus primarily on protection from abuse, family matters, and education cases, with a holistic approach to provide comprehensive assistance - Assess and triage cases in consultation with the FLVR Managing Attorney and team members - Provide consultations to partner agency staff and collaborate with other service providers - Participate in working groups and coalitions focused on improving systems for domestic and sexual violence survivors and victims of stalking - Engage in community outreach and networking to strengthen Pine Tree's reputation and access to legal services - Collaborate and consult with other Pine Tree staff whose expertise covers a range of relevant areas - Handle legal work in accordance with Pine Tree's standards and ethical responsibilities - Maintain accurate and contemporaneous client records and timekeeping - Actively participate in regular case meetings and other office discussions - Utilize training opportunities to strengthen trial and client skills - Share responsibility for general office needs - Contribute to and maintain Pine Tree's high standards for excellence Qualifications: - Admitted to the practice of law in Maine or eligible to practice under MRCP 89 (c) - Previous experience working with survivors of domestic and sexual violence preferred - Previous litigation experience preferred - Willing to reside in the state of Maine - Exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act Compensation and Benefits: - Salary range of $67,140 - $104,140, depending on experience - Employer-paid health insurance with generous HRA contribution - Generous health insurance opt-out benefit - Employer-paid dental insurance - Employer-paid life and disability insurance - Annual contribution to a 403(b)-retirement plan - Other voluntary options include vision and expanded life insurance - 12 paid holidays - Paid parental leave - Generous vacation, floating holidays, and sick leave **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to employing and supporting individuals who are passionate about social justice, regardless of their race, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, physical or mental disability, religion, familial status or experience with poverty, receipt of public assistance, or homelessness.
