Syracuse, NY Organization: Hiscock Legal Aid (HLA) Department: Appeals and Parole Programs Job Title: Managing Attorney Experience: Three years of criminal law experience as an admitted attorney in any jurisdiction Salary: $90,530 to $124,705 annually, depending on candidate qualifications and experience About Hiscock Legal Aid: - Founded in 1949 - Non-profit agency located in Syracuse, New York - Committed to promoting equal justice under the law - Primary provider of legal services for low-income individuals in Central New York - Learn more about our mission at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** About the Position: - Seeking an attorney with criminal law experience to serve as Managing Attorney of Appeals and Parole Programs - Oversees general operations of both programs - Directly supervises Appeals and Parole supervising attorneys - Reports to the Executive Director - Responsible for case supervision, direct representation, monitoring and evaluating procedures, tracking data and preparing reports, collaborating with stakeholders, and participating in executive management team meetings - Join a historic legal aid office and work with a great team Qualifications: - Three years of criminal law experience as an admitted attorney in any jurisdiction - Admission in good standing to the New York Bar, or eligibility for admission on motion - Strong people skills and ability to supervise diverse personalities - Strong statutory knowledge, especially of criminal statutes - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Attention to detail - Ability to meet deadlines and requirements - Excellent verbal and written communication skills Salary Transparency: - $90,530 to $124,705 annually, depending on candidate qualifications and experience Benefits: - Generous paid vacation, sick, personal, and hourly leave totaling more than 30 days per year - Minimum of 14 paid holidays per year - Health, dental, life, and vision insurance - 401(k) retirement plan with employer match - Reduced membership to the YMCA of CNY - $100 monthly parking/transportation stipend - Reimbursement for bi-annual attorney registration and other professional fees - Eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness Work-Life Balance: - Standard office hours of 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday - Summer hours available from Memorial Day until Labor Day, allowing for early leave at 4:00 pm Application Instructions: - Submit a cover letter, resume, and list of three references to Gregory W.
