Gadsden, AL SEO Friendly Job Title: Pro Bono Volunteer for Legal Services Alabama H1: Join Legal Services Alabama's Partners for Justice Program H2: Volunteer Your Legal Services and Make a Difference Organization: Legal Services Alabama Department: Partners for Justice Program Benefits of Volunteering: - Gain experience in multiple areas of public interest law - Assist under-served communities - Learn about the workings of the public interest legal sector - Provide valuable services to low-income communities Volunteer Responsibilities: - Assist with intake questionnaires and applications - Work with a Managing Attorney to help clients with legal problems - Determine eligibility of clients for legal services - Develop and enhance intake questionnaires and self-help materials - Learn interviewing techniques, case analysis, and issue spotting Volunteer Qualifications: - Sensitive and caring attitude - Enthusiasm for helping low-income Alabamians - Highly motivated to use skills for the community - Ability to work with diverse backgrounds - Effective communication skills - Willingness to attend training sessions - Understanding of the need to not profit financially from services Technology Volunteer Opportunities: - Audio transcription for subtitling PSAs and trainings - Voice overs and actor portrayals - Photo sessions for promotional materials - Translations for non-English speaking residents If you are interested in volunteering with Legal Services Alabama, please contact the Managing Attorney at your local office.
