Benefits Paralegal--Northern Regional
Clarksburg, WV SEO Friendly Job Title: Benefits Paralegal - Northern Regional Coverage, WV H1: Join Our Team as a Benefits Paralegal in Northern West Virginia H2: Represent Low-Income Clients and Make a Difference Organization: Community Action Partnership (CAP) Agencies in Northern West Virginia Department: Legal Unit Job Type: Full-time Position Description: The Benefits Paralegal will provide high quality professional advocacy for low-income clients on matters that do not require an attorney. This position is based in Clarksburg, Wheeling, or Morgantown, WV and will require frequent travel throughout the Northern region of the state. The paralegal will work with clients, attorneys, and community partners to provide legal representation and assistance with public benefits, domestic violence protective order proceedings, and other legal matters. Responsibilities: - Provide legal representation and assistance to low-income clients in accordance with professional and organizational standards - Manage own caseload and files in administrative law proceedings under the supervision of attorneys - Maintain accurate and complete records - Interact professionally with clients, staff, and service providers - Attend and participate in statewide meetings and trainings - Facilitate private attorney involvement in the provision of legal services to eligible clients Requirements: - Associate's degree or paralegal certificate - Minimum of 2 years of experience or 4 years of experience - Demonstrable commitment to addressing issues faced by low-income individuals - Proficiency in office technologies, including case management software - Ability to balance administrative and client advocacy responsibilities - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Strong organizational and prioritization abilities Salary Information: The salary range for this position is $31,100 to $36,100.
