Job Title: Litigation Attorney

Experience:
- 3 years of prior litigation practice or prior legal experience
- Exposure to insurance litigation work desirable

Job Overview:

- Responsible for high quality, proactive case handling
- Use legal expertise and litigation skills to handle a caseload of predominantly low to moderate complexity
- Deliver optimal results for Travelers' insured customers

Responsibilities:

- Develop and apply effective trial skills and techniques
- Conduct legal research and demonstrate strong legal writing and presentation skills
- Supervise research projects delegated to Associate Counsel and paralegals
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
- Attend court events and appointments independently
- Provide recommendations and case analysis to Claim and insured clients
- Build and maintain strong internal and external client relationships
- Effectively utilize support staff and technology
- Travel as required
- Provide advice and training to Claim partners and clients
- Adhere to best practices in file handling
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
- Active license in good standing to practice law in the state(s) required
- Minimum of one year of litigation practice or prior legal experience
- Strong research and negotiation skills
- Ability to analyze legal issues with minimal supervision
- Commitment to delivering high-quality legal work
