Position Summary:
- Entry-level trainee position with extensive mentoring
- Structured learning plan to develop key job responsibilities
- Provides administrative support to other IP Assistants within the Intellectual Property department

Essential Job Functions:
- Assist with domestic and international patent prosecution and litigation work
- Review and report on USPTO communications
- Prepare formal documents and file using EFS
- Demonstrate proficiency in electronic filing and foreign filings
- Monitor docket and maintain personal IP docket and litigation calendar
- Oversee file creation, maintenance, and organization
- Communicate with USPTO and clients
- Prepare status reports and perform patent and trademark searches
- Review and process invoices
- Contact clients regarding past due accounts
- Demonstrate dependability, reliability, and flexibility

Qualifications:
- High school diploma and 2 years of relevant work experience
- Associate degree in legal studies or related field preferred
- Notary preferred
- Minimum typing speed of 65 words per minute
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
- Diligent with great attention to detail
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and research tools
- Some knowledge of patent, trademark, and copyright rules preferred
- Able to operate standard office equipment
- Discretion when handling sensitive information
- Ability to manage stressful situations professionally

Physical Demands:
- Required to read from hard-copy paper and computer screen, sit, talk, and hear
- Use hands and fingers repetitively
- Occasionally bend and lift items under 25 lbs
- Moderate noise level, indoor temperature, and bright lighting in office environment
- Little to no travel expected
