Senior Managing Counsel, Corporate Governance
Abbeville, LA H1: Senior Managing Counsel, Corporate Governance - Work Remotely for Allstate H2: Join Our Team and Protect Families with Allstate Allstate, a leading insurance company in the United States, is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Managing Counsel to join our team as a key member of the Corporate Secretary function. This role offers the unique opportunity to work fully remote, as long as you reside in the United States, and be a part of a company that has been protecting families and their belongings for over 90 years. As the Senior Managing Counsel, you will report directly to the VP, Deputy General Counsel and Corporate Secretary and provide expert legal support and counsel on corporate governance and other corporate matters. You will also have the opportunity to lead and develop a team of attorneys and legal professionals. Key Responsibilities: • Assess compliance with SEC and NYSE corporate governance requirements • Develop materials for The Allstate Corporations Nominating and Governance Committee and the Board of Directors • Lead preparation and execution of The Allstate Corporation’s annual meeting and proxy statement • Monitor best practices for public company corporate governance • Oversee subsidiary governance and maintenance • Proactively lead, manage, and coach a team of attorneys and paraprofessionals • Collaborate with subject matter experts and leaders across the company Required Skills and Experience: • 4-year Bachelor’s degree (Preferred) • 10 or more years of experience (Preferred) • In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered • Member in good standing of state bar • Corporate law experience within a reputable law firm and/or an in-house legal department for U.S. publicly traded company • Budget and project management skills • Law firm/vendor management experience Compensation: • $220,500.00 – 279,562.50 annually • Based on experience and qualifications At Allstate, we believe in creating an inclusive and diverse work environment where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and make a difference.
