Labor & Employment Legal Assistant

Essential Functions:

- Prepare, revise and proofread various legal documents.
- Assist with preparation of training and educational materials.
- Coordinate hearing and trial preparation.
- Have working knowledge of state and federal filing procedures.
- Create and maintain client and administrative files.
- Schedule appointments and maintain attorney's calendar.
- Enter and release attorney's billable time.
- Review proformas for billings and prepare engagement letters.
- Monitor case deadlines and work with Docket Department.
- Coordinate travel arrangements and track expenses.
- Communicate professionally with internal and external clients.

Additional Responsibilities:

- Proactively participate as a member of the practice group support coverage team.
- Stay current in the use of all firm systems and practices.
- May require overtime or weekend hours.
- Perform additional office support duties as assigned/requested.

Confidentiality:

- Must maintain confidentiality of all documents and information in possession.

Qualifications:

- High School Diploma.
- Three years of labor and employment experience.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and work well with others.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PDF software.
- Experience with specific legal software is a plus.
- Excellent customer service attitude.
