In this role, you will have the opportunity to strategically develop our worldwide patent portfolio, manage outside counsel, and provide legal guidance to various teams and clients. Key Responsibilities: - Strategically develop and manage our worldwide patent portfolio - Direct and manage domestic and foreign outside counsel in preparing and prosecuting patent applications - Manage invention disclosures and participate in budget management - Conduct due diligence on potential mergers and acquisitions and freedom-to-operate assessments - Analyze competitor products and IP portfolios - Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide legal guidance to senior management and other organizational leaders - Review outside counsel work and ensure it meets **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***'s expectations - Assist with IP litigation matters - Conduct employee training sessions on protecting innovations and maintaining confidential business information - Provide counseling and strategy options on marketing and promotional materials - Occasionally travel domestically or internationally Qualifications: - Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and admitted to a US state bar in good standing - USPTO registration in good standing - Minimum of 7 years of experience as a patent attorney, preferably in the medical device industry - Experience prosecuting mechanical, electro-mechanical, semiconductor, and/or software patent applications - Strong understanding of patent laws and regulations - Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills - Ability to understand and comply with FDA regulations and company operating procedures Preferred Qualifications: - In-house IP experience, preferably in the medical device industry - Experience managing a medical device IP portfolio - Working knowledge of patent laws in major jurisdictions outside of the US - Government (USPTO or EPO) experience At **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***, we believe in helping people live their best lives through better health.
