Senior Trial Attorney

They are currently seeking a Senior Trial Attorney to join their Legal & Compliance team in Bronx/Westchester/Putnam Counties, NY. This hybrid position allows for a flexible schedule with some in-office days and some days remote. The ideal candidate will have experience in Insurance Defense and Tort Litigation/Disputes work, as well as a Juris Doctorate degree and NY State Bar membership. Responsibilities: - Review new file assignments and approve initial pleadings, propound discovery, and/or develop strategy - Contact clients to discuss their case and answer any questions, maintaining contact at a minimum of 90 days - Contact claims to provide litigation plan and hold strategy conferences - Review all documentary evidence - Prepare witnesses and clients for depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials - Conduct depositions and examinations under oath and prepare summary documents - Prepare and conduct court appearances, settlement proceedings, and handle appeals - Provide legal opinions to claims clients and investigate subrogation litigation - Manage projects and provide project management, coordination, and collaboration between legal teams Requirements: - Juris Doctorate degree and member in good standing of NY State Bar - Up to 5 years of experience in Insurance Defense, Subrogation, and/or Personal Injury litigation - Trial and/or Arbitration experience preferred, with flexibility to work across several disciplines such as SIU, PIP, UM, and Subrogation - Computer skills required, including Microsoft Office, Lexis, and the internet - Ability to work well with others on a team and handle a large caseload - Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills - Must be able to travel and have the physical ability to lift up to 20 pounds, bend, turn, and sit for prolonged periods of time Compensation: The compensation offered for this role is $85,600.00 – $152,650.00 annually, based on experience and qualifications. This is a Field Home-Based Worker position, with a monthly connectivity reimbursement for internet and phone expenses.
